youth rangers

Our Youth Rangerships offer young people paid training opportunities at the Penpont Project.

Youth Rangers work alongside our staff team to deliver practical nature restoration, forestry and regenerative farming actions on site, in line with the vision set out by the project’s Youth Leadership Group, building vital skills that prepare them for an environmental career.

Youth Rangerships are open to young people aged 18-24 living near the Penpont Project site. Please note that accommodation on site is not provided.

Applications for our Youth Rangerships are now closed.

“My placement gave me the confidence to understand nature and why it is different to what people think it is. Before I worked here I had no idea what tree it was. The Rangership has made me a better person than I was before”

"Before I began this Rangership, I remember admiring nature around me but not thinking any more deeply about it. Now I am nearly at the end of my Rangership programme and I feel so much more connected to the natural world around me. I discovered a love for nature, so much so that I have been accepted on a course in wildlife and landscape conservation for the next 2 years."
